Superiore Dolce Marsala
92 Points from Wine Spectator
A favorite wine of revolutionary Giussepe Garibaldi. The grapes are harvested from coastal vineyards in Contrada Biesina and Baiata.
Grapes are de-stemmed, and maceration in stainless-steel follows for 7 days, with frequent delestages. After tannins are fully extracted, and following fortification, the wine ages in Slavonian casks, and in French and American barriques and tonneaux.
The wine, itself, reveals a silky body on the palate, intertwined with aromas of dried fig and almond, altogether finishing with touches of honey.
